Round 2 of the Virtual Endurance Championship took place at the Nürburgring GP circuit. After a brilliant debut with our no. 29 Burst Edge Esports LMP2 opening the season with a win, the spirit was high.
The Burst SimPlexity Esport car of Michi Hoyer and Dawid Mroczek qualified in 4th position just like they did in the season opener at Silverstone. Jernej Simončič ended the session in P6, while Joao Pitaes struggled and had to settle with P11.
All three cars had their struggles, especially the no. 29 car. But despite some incidents, Jernej, Alex Siebel and Dennis Jordan still delivered a great result by finishing in 3rd place.
Michi and Dawid had a drive through penalty from round one to serve. But they showed amazing pace and recovered to P5, just 0,3 second behind P4.
Tom Oldenmenger made his VEC debut where both he and Joao Pitaes showed that they have the pace to race in division 1. The no. 50 Burst Esport Hungry.dk car finish 8th which was a good performance. They did have a tricky race by getting damage at the final driver swap, which cost them around a second per lap.
We are just two rounds into the season so everything is still up for grabs. Round three of the Virtual Endurance Championship takes place on the 12th of December when we return to Imola where one of the pre season races also was held.
