Burst Esport Sports Car Open Monza

Round 2 of GT PRO & Sports Car Open

It has been quite a week so far.
Monday, we had the second round of the GT PRO series on rFactor 2, and Saturday we had Sports Car Open on iRacing, which took place around Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.

GT PRO

After a mixed start to GT PRO for Jernej Simončič, Michi Hoyer and Robin Pansar’s aim was to improve and take a step further towards the top of the championship standings, but the short and high speed racetrack of Portland turned out to be quite a handful for the elite of rFactor 2. All three Burst drivers qualified in the midfield, but the race pace of Jernej saw him climb 4 places to finish the sprint race in P8 and therefore secured a starting position of 3rd for the feature race. Robin had a decent race where he managed to overtake Michi to finish in P18 and P19.

The 45 minutes long feature race, saw Jernej put in a solid drive to finish 4th while Michi struggled a lot and had to settle for 17th. Robin sadly did not finish the race, but he will come back stronger in round 3, where we go to the hilly Virginia Internation Raceway.
Jernej sits 6th in the driver standings and still well in the fight for the title.

Round 3 of GT PRO takes place on the 9th of November.

Sports Car Open

Charlie Summers and Simeon Lynch were determined to redeem themself after receiving another plate of bad luck in the season opener of Sports Car Open. Unfortunately, their bad luck continued in the first round of traffic, where they got terminal steering damage. That ended their race way too early.

They guys have shown that they belong in the very top and will be ready to do again. Round 3 of Sports Car Open takes place at the Nürburgring on the 21st of November.
